Wood Adirondack Chairs – Most Popular Amongst Adirondack Chairs

by guestpost on December 5, 2008

Many new materials have emerged in the outdoor furniture sector, but wood Adirondack chairs are still the choice of most people looking for quality outdoor furniture. You can’t help but appreciate beauty of natural wood, especially when you see a chair made of Cedar or Hickory wood. If your chairs are made of red Cedar, you do not even want to paint your wood Adirondack chairs. If you leave your chairs untreated, the cedar will slowly fade to a soft silver color (the color of drift wood). If you want your chairs to retain the red cedar color, use a treatment option with a high UV protection rating, as the exposure to the sun changes the color of the cedar wood into the silvery gray. One advantage of painted wood Adirondack chairs is the ease of cleaning. All you need is some soapy water, a sponge or rag, and clean water to wash off the soap. Let them air-dry, or wipe dry with a towel or dry rag. Unpainted wood Adirondack chairs will be somewhat more difficult to clean, and stains from red wine or similar substances are often there to stay. So, make sure that you clean your wood Adirondack chairs appropriately and in time, or else you’ll soon see it deteriorating in front of your own eyes.
